What is it?

A waste audit uses sometimes all or a proportion of bins from a post lunch school community (including staff room). Only bins currently destined for landfill.
A single class, usually Yr4 or above will then sort this waste that has been tipped out on the floor into boxes of various categories. We then make up graphs to show what waste is being collected.
The school then decides how it wants to focus its effort. We can do follow up visits or help with various ideas such as organics reuse, battery bin collection.
This is then extrapolated to number of bins and students.

To get a visual idea of an audit here is a link to Wastewise Schools video that shows you how. www.wasteauthority.wa.gov.au
