In 2012 a number of Earth Carers decided to extend their knowledge and experiences and try the Advanced Earth Carer course in May. There were 4 sessions, including a marathon tour of a construction and demolition recycling facility and a commercial recycling depot; interesting input from commercial waste and recycling facility and some perspectives on how we can make a difference from Anne Pettit and Peg Davies.
A major aspect to the course was to develop and carry out a project to 'make a difference' and reduce waste generated, particularly from going to landfill. This proved both a challenge and a stimulation with a variety of ideas and projects in the mix, some much more ambitious than others. The aim was to choose something achievable and enjoyable.
